Oh god. Mass Effect has totally fucking taken over my soul. You guys must be so sick of hearing it but it's flaws aside (Namely to driving missions in the mako to planets) the setting, story and characters (not to mention hot blue alien lesbos) kick major ass, it was frikken MEANT for me.
I just bought the Mass Effect shoulder bag off of Trademe so I can look a total freaking nerd (haven't had a nerdy bag since my Dreamcast bag) and am looking at getting the artbook as well as the prequel novel of how Saren came into contact with Sovreign (evil bitchass spaceship from hell).
I also really want the disc that came with pre orders at EB and such but I missed out because EB suck shit (I dont buy from them, the guys who work there in the Cuba St store are trolling assholes who know jack shit about gaming I swear). Hopefully I can convince this guy I know in the US called Brian to part with his.
Ungh. If you have a 360, and like sci fi, and RPGs, you NEED to get this freaking game. Playing it as a renegade (read: Asshole) now. First encounter in my first playthrough I had with a reporter was all fine and dandy answer questions for her and all is good and nice.
This play through I was all like "YEAH YEAH HURRY UP", then she asks her first question and i'm like "OK THIS INTARVIEW IS OVAR" and literally gut punch her in the cunt and she drops to the floor. It was seriously brutal and unexpected, I thought the interview was just gonna be over, but no. Shepherd cunt punched the brown nosing bitch. It's sad I could not stop laughing but it was so absurdly extreme.
Another guy who was kinda crazy I did the same thing to because he wouldn't shut up (although it was more of a cock-punch), and I also gunned down some warehouse workers because they tried to act tough. I also got extra money out of another reporter because I didn't feel she paid enough. She soon paid up when threatened to be killed.
Those are just two extremes though, you can mix up the choices you make but for each run trhough I was just going straight good or straight evil as you get achievment points for totally maxing those out.
The game offers heaps of dialogue choices and apprently Bioware are saying to save your favourite save as you will be able to transfer it over for Mass Effect 2 (it's a trilogy). Also there is word of some extra DLC until that gets released.
It's a shame I did my first run through in about 25hours but I'm sure there is an assload of stuff I missed, heaps of collecty stuff missions which I was too lazy to do. Playing it on hardcore now definitely makes boss battles a helluva lot more extreme (with them being thrown up to 10 levels above you...15 if you play on Insanity, but you only get that after completing on hardcore.
I feel this is one game I will be able to see out the full 1000 gamerpoints on.
I still gotta find time to play my copy of Assasins Creed so after Jimi is done with that I might lend it to Laney for a bit while I wrap up Mass Effect.

Feeling a teensy bit meh tonight. About to head to bed as I have work tomorrow (had some annual leave today).
Clocked Mass Effect in about 25hours, and got the completionist achievement, didn't do all the surveying I could have but not sure if you get gamerpoints for that anyways. Started playing again on hardcore in game+ mode that lets you continue using the character you made, but with all the abilities/weapons/items/skills you've collected so far.
It was a wild ride and can't wait for the second one. I'm glad the ending isn't like a Halo2 cliff hanger where it's all OH GOD WAITING 3 YEARS FOR A SEQUEL FUCK THAT.
Voice acting is awesome, and the characters rock. Alien space sex is also awesome. Saren and the Sovreign are awesome. Actually having to make big desisions is awesome.
Game of the bloody year.

In other news, Mass Effect is the best god damned RPG ever. Possibly my game of the year by FAR. It's like it was made for me, none of this orcs and goblins fantasy bullshit. Straight up, non cheesy sci fi, with great characters, weapons and awesome combat system that is like playing a 3rd Person shooter with leveling up.
Apparently it's alot like Tabula Rasa, which if I bother to get, will be the death of me. Sci fi FPS-MMO ftw.

Who would be keen for me to organise a late night paintball session out in Petone?
The paintball place out there is 24/7 so booking a game shouldnt be an issue.
$20 to start off for gear hire and 50rounds of ammo, +$10 per extra 50rounds on top, if there is no one else booked I think we can play as long as we like.
Various game modesinclude CTF, Center CTF (kinda like soccer), Downed pilot etc.
I need a minimum of 6 people to book and would look at doing this maybe 2 or 3 weeks away, on a Friday/Saturday night, with people PRE PAID for the game (ie, give me money, so I can book and confirm, otherwise we might not end up with enough to pay).
Could be a hellva lot of fun :D
So if you don't mind getting shot then post here yo. Would look at doing the game around 10pm on one of the nights, with people splitting fares for taxis from town and back to town. This way its less likely that the place will be booked out due to it being late.
Afterwards maybe a bunch of us can just hang and play games at Timezone or something?

Friday- Limewax. Madass dnb mosh pit FTW...I think I elbowed PJ a few times and was nearly knocked to the ground by trigger...but i'm sure i punched him in the head or shoulder. Good times. :D
Saturday- Emma/Loki/Hailz/peoples flatwarming. Got quite tiddly...was fun catching up with people :D
